Estimate Snapshots: A Fixed Project State as of a Date

A snapshot in BEEMESTA captures a report’s state on a specific date: the prices, quantities and parameters in it no longer change. Together with project versions, snapshots let you compare the estimate over time, see how supplier prices have changed, and show the client or investor confirmed figures.

What is a report snapshot

A snapshot is an estimate frozen in time. It preserves all the report’s prices, quantities and parameters as of the date it was created, and whatever later happens to the model or the price lists, the snapshot will show the same totals. Everything works as in the live report — tabs, 3D, drill-down — but read-only.

A snapshot is created with the “Save report state” button or automatically — weekly on Saturdays or monthly on the 1st. Up to 10 snapshots are kept per project, so it’s worth taking one before significant changes.

Project versions: every model revision kept separately

Every IFC upload creates a new project version instead of overwriting the old one. This lets you run several variants of one project in parallel and see how the cost changed between model revisions. Each version has a stage, and the report warns you if required classes are missing for it.

If a new file matches an already uploaded model, you can overwrite the existing version during upload, copy reports from the previous one and keep the classification and tags. The platform compares the file’s elements with the selected version and shows how many matched, were added and were removed.

How to compare versions and snapshots and see price changes

BEEMESTA has two comparison mechanisms. Versions show how the cost changed along with the model. Snapshots show how the estimate changed over time on the same model — in particular, how supplier prices changed over a period.

To compare, open two snapshots from different dates side by side, or turn on “Compare with snapshots” in the “Export Constructor” — in the Excel file, current data will appear next to the saved state. The “Summary budget” combines several project versions into one budget through their current reports.

Change audit and estimate confirmation for investors

A snapshot is safe to show a client or attach to a contract: a link to it will always show the same totals. An investor gets transparent budget control — the estimate by budget item with cost per m², and the project’s state on any date.

For auditing, the report has a “Change history”: what was changed, when and by whom — element classes, tags, plan vs. actual — filterable by user and change type. An investor company can be given view-only access to the project.
